Lucifer’s Tuna Pasta

To make this recipe vegan, swap the tuna with tofu!

INGREDIENTS

Lucifer’s Tuna
  • 4 oz of Lucifer’s Tears salsa
  • 12 oz of Tuna
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp of extra virgin Olive Oil

 

Aromatic Base
  • 2 cloves of Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp of Capers
  • 2 Tbsp of extra virgin Olive Oil
Pasta
  • 4 oz of Spaghetti, Linguine, or Angel Hair pasta

DIRECTIONS

 

Lucifer’s Tuna
1. Begin cooking pasta in a large pot of boiling, salted water per package instructions
2. Marinate the tuna with 2 ounces of Lucifer’s Tears salsa (about 15 minutes)
3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and allow to come to a shimmer
4. Add garlic stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Add capers and tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Cook for 2 minutes, whisking frequently
5. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat with a blast of nonstick spray or 1 tbsp olive oil.
Before oil begins smoking, add tuna steaks and cook until lightly browned and well seared (about 1 minute) 
6. Turn tuna gently onto a hot portion of the pan and repeat. Remove from heat immediately and allow to rest
7. Drain pasta and toss with caper and tomatoes sauce
8. Place a portion on serving plate
9. Slice tuna and lay out next to pasta, add more Lucifer’s Tears salsa and serve immediately
